HAPPY DRJ
TALK DRJ
The Happy DRJ app was developed for exceptional individuals with unique and/or special needs particularly children diagnosed under the autism spectrum. When the mind is in a calm state learning increases. The Happy DRJ app creates a bridge between the calm mind and increased learning through two important components: midline exercises and social stories.
Midline exercises engage the left and right hemisphere of the brain resulting in communication that offers improved focus while calming the child, readying them to improve awareness. These five midline exercises are easy, simple and fun. They are a result of a worldwide recognised doctorate publication translated into 27 languages.
Studies indicate by persuading the right and left hemisphere of the brain into communicating/sharing information through midline exercises, natural chemicals are released within the brain creating a comforting influence within a child’s world.
The social stories lesson component of the Happy DRJ app provides short informative ‘how to’ interact with the world around us through three friendly, helpful cartoon characters.
Happy DRJ app is currently translated into English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Chinese, Dutch, Hindu, Bangla, Filipino, Portuguese, Telugu, Tamil, Arabic and Japanese.
TALK DRJ
Through the global input from parents/service providers, along with the partnership between Dr. Jennifer Dustow and Sai Virkram the Talk DRJ app was created. The Talk DRJ app improves speech using an artificial intelligence approach. This FREE app is geared for children with autism or other disabilities, patients recovering from throat surgeries, those with brain injuries, or even medical students working on articulation and annunciation of medical terms.
Talk DRJ is unique because it lets users know how accurately they are speaking as well as what requires additional practice by providing data (in percentages) that focuses on either the initial or end aspect of the annunciation of words or phrases. So the users know exactly what they need to focus on to speak correctly. The data collected by this app can be shared by emailing directly to service providers, parents, and other professionals (e.g., doctors, speech therapists, etc.), while maintaining a high level of confidentiality for the user.
Talk DRJ’s best feature is how simple it is to use.
There are a total of four buttons:
1. ‘Record’ button which can be activated in two manners; the first by pressing the record button and speaking or the second, by typing the word or sentence into a box located next to the record button and then hitting enter.
2. ‘Sound’ icon button which the users presses to hear what was recorded. This button can be used several times if users’ needs to hear the word or phrase repeated or if they wish to continue practicing before moving onto a new word or sentence prerecording.
3. ‘Speak’ button which users only press once to talk into the app.
4. ‘Send Data and See Data’ button which allow the users to view and/or print as well as share their results in a PDF format in the social app of their choice (for example, email, WhatsApp, messenger, etc.). Results are stored to a 30 attempts maximum before resetting back to zero.
Talk DRJ app focuses on one prerecording at a time.
Ensuring confidentially: Results are automatically emailed after 30 activations of the 'Speak' button to a predetermined email address provided during the setup after downloading Talk DRJ. If no email address is provided, results after 30 activation of the 'Speak' button will automatically delete. Regarding the 'Share and See Data' button, results are only kept up to 30 activations of the 'Speak' button, before resetting back to zero. Currently in 31 languages.
